ONGC collaborates with NEBOSH to improve health and safety.
Training towards the qualifications will be delivered at ONGC’s recently revamped state-of-the-art training facility, the Institute of Petroleum Safety, Health and Environment Management (IPSHEM), in Goa, India. In the ONGC facilities of global standards here, health and safety experts from NIST Global Private Limited will conduct the courses for the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management.
NEBOSH has accredited India’s ONGC to deliver health and safety qualifications in a drive to improve safety education for its employees and the energy industry. This is the first time that an Indian public sector enterprise has been accredited to deliver NEBOSH qualifications. Steve McLaughlin, NEBOSH Chief Commercial Officer, says: “This is a momentous occasion as ONGC is the first Indian government organisation to achieve NEBOSH accreditation”.
Head of ONGC IPSHEM Sanjeev Singhal said, “ONGC is deeply committed to improve the safety-preparedness in the energy industry and this collaboration is one of our many recent developments in this regard.”
