A Legacy of Growth : From IPSHEM to ATI-ONGC
ATI-ONGC’s journey began in 1989 in Room No. 202 of Hotel Woodlands, Margao, Goa. Focused on petroleum safety and environmental management, IPSHEM laid the foundation. In 1997, the institute relocated to Betul, South Goa, establishing a specialized campus for petroleum emergency training and research.
By 2002, IPSHEM evolved into the Institute of Petroleum Safety, Health, and Environment Management (IPSHEM), reflecting the added importance of occupational health.
Now, in 2024, the transformation continues with the rebranding to ATI-ONGC, expanding its horizons beyond petroleum safety.
Broadened Training Focus: Serving Energy, Aviation, and Marine Industries
ATI-ONGC has broadened its training portfolio to include sectors like energy, aviation, and marine. As a NEBOSH gold learning partner and an accredited IOSH learning partner, the institute is a benchmark for safety training excellence, addressing the evolving needs of these high-risk industries.

ATI-ONGC offers a vast array of training programs tailored to modern industry needs. Its offerings include Occupational Health and Work Life Management (OH & WLM), Safety in Drilling and Logging Operations, Accident / Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis (AI & RAC), and Behaviour Based Safety (BBS). Future Expansion and International Collaborations
Looking ahead, ATI-ONGC is aiming for more international certifications. The institute is seeking partnerships with organizations such as the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC).
